On the search for the best tacos in Connecticut brings us to Los Molcajetes in Norwalk.

All the tacos come with chips and 3 salsas. All the salsas were good, none of them great.

So we tried a sampling of nearly every taco they had.

Suadero taco

This taco had a super heavy flavor of allspice.

The meat is stringy, with the bark sometime so tough as to be unchewable.

There is good flavor here, but it’s not the best.

The Rating: Suadero Taco

Chicken taco

Like the Suadero taco there is good flavor here.

The tacos are well filled with meats, and very light on toppings.

Which is how tacos should be!

The tacos are double shelled but you can pull them apart for some single shelled action.

The chicken is a little dry, but a heavy stock flavor is nice.

Steak taco

This one is very good.

The steak has a sourness to it that may be off putting, but once mixed with the onion and cilantro blends together very nicely.

Pastor taco

Oh pastor, it is so often you.

The pork and pineapple offer an excellent flavor.

The meat is a little dry, however.

Which means your first bites of the taco are wonderful, but then it gets a little disappointing.

Overall, wonderful flavor in the first few bites.

The Rating: Pastor Taco

7.5/10

Chorizo taco

And yet, despite a love of pastor, the chorizo taco here takes it for best taco.

The chorizo is spicy with a very good flavor.

The spice flavor is heavy on peppers, which is good because it prevents the taste from becoming too mealy in your mouth.

Just excellent.
