On the search for the best Grilled Cheese in Connecticut brings us to Melted Madness in Middletown.

Okay, grilled cheese is classic comfort food.

And comfort food is something that can easily be made at home.

It can’t be something that takes hours to prepare.

A child or teenager should be able to do it.

This is where the Classic Grilled Cheese at Melted Madness excels.

Classic Grilled Cheese

This is what happens when a 12-year-old decides to make a sandwich.

It has everything in it that will hit the nostalgia.

First, it has a blend of cheeses, but a decidedly American cheese flavor comes thorugh.

Next, instead of allowing a little cheese to hit the griddle and crisp up, they jus throw a whole slice of cheese on the outside to crisp up.

It is cooked in a ridiculous amount of butter, as a proper grilled cheese should be.

The bread is white bread, and for some reason they put a third slice in the middle.

This is either for something to do with structural integrity, or it is just because a 12-year-old made the recipe.

In no way will this grilled cheese win awards for fine dining;

or inventiveness.

But it is peak comfort food.

And tastes great.

The Rating:

P.S. The Tomato Soup Tastes like Progresso straight from the can, take that as you will.
