Connecticut has a whole bunch of coffee roasters. We’re gonna try em all.
This time, Perkatory Coffee Roasters in Middletown and Southington.

The espresso here has a distinct butterscotch smell to it, which is very nice.
The taste is a combination of sweet and sour.
Mostly like a lemon dipped in caramel or butterscotch.
Over time, however, the sour starts to take over, with the sweetness getting overwhelmed.
In a drink with too much milk, that could be off-putting.
The espresso is medium-bodied, so it stands up well to milk or water additions.
Overall, if you think like your espresso sour but secretly like it a little sweeter, this is the espresso for you.
I’m not taken in, however, by the sour espresso idea.
What you drink or eat should taste good on its own, not because you think that’s how it should take or how you think it tastes in Italy (it isn’t).
