One of the first places I ever decided to review was Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre in Old Wethersfield.

I had tried their breakfast burrito and it was so good, I thought, I had to tell other people about this.

But then, they remodeled their kitchen and revamped their menu (this was maybe…2018? 2021? Something like that).

So I let it go.

And forgot about it.

Then I recently found myself in Wethersfield and tried it again.

Breakfast Burrito
The breakfast burrito disappoints.

The weirdest thing is the egg, it is cold and mushy. Like a giant tray of eggs was whipped together than baked into a sheet pan, then cut into big cubes.

The sautéed peppers don’t blend well either.

I don’t know what changed over all these years, but the breakfast burrito is not great.

Biscuit
My original notes from years ago were that the breakfast sandwich on the biscuit was weird because of the steamed sheet eggs, but the biscuit was great!

I’m not overly into biscuits on their own, but I ordered this with some butter and jam.

The biscuit has a perfect outer crispiness with a fluffy inside.

The dough itself isn’t overly buttery or overly sweet.

It is a good balance.

With the right jam, it is not to be missed.

Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookie
Truly amazing.

Packed with rich chocolate chunks, balanced with the perfect amount of sea salt, and boasting a crispy shell with a gooey center.

This cookie is so good.

Criminally good.

The only complaint one may have it is is almost entirely chocolate chunks.

I’m not sure how that is a problem, but I can see someone being upset.
This very well may be the best chocolate chip cookie in Connecticut.

In summary, while Heirloom Market at Comstock offers a mixed bag with their breakfast options, their Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookie is a must-try.
