On the search for the best BBQ in Connecticut brings us to Smoke BBQ Cafe in Enfield.

This Polish butcher also seems to be home to a BBQ shop where they smoke meats.
So we went traditional BBQ (pulled pork) and traditional Polish (BBQ Kielbasa).
Pulled pork
Smoke is right.
This pork is completely dominated by smoke flavor the same way beef jerky has a heavy smoke flavor.
While the meat has some crisp edges and isn’t too dry, the smoke flavor is nearly all that you taste.
There are a few sauces here, like the homemade aged cayenne bbq sauce, that can really help.
But with the smoke flavor completely dominating all else, you lose the pork you wanted.

But what about Kielbasa?
That Polish smoked meat that already has that smoky flavor expected of it?
This is where this place shines.
The kielbasa flavor is amazing.
Meaty with pockets of fatty goodness.
The skin is split and yet it is exceptionally juicy inside.
The bbq sauce makes it even better.
Definitely the thing to get here.
