I both love and hate the rise of the $15-20 burger.

It has given us some excellent examples of how burgers could be.

It has inflated prices of okay burgers.

Let’s see which Flipside is.

Glazed Calamari

Fried Calamari with banana peppers and a blackberry jalapeno glaze.

The calamari themselves are very thin, like if you could get shoestring fries in calamari form.

They are also all rings, with no tentacles.

Which is an off choice.

The fry on them is nice but nothing special, a little underseasoned.

The drizzled Blackberry jalapeno sauce provides a sweetness with a little heat.

Overall, the dish is nice, but nothing special.

Now on to a burger.
Milford smokehouse burger

This burger is a bacon cheddar burger with adobo sauce and coleslaw.

Overall it was very good.

The Adobo ketchup dominates the flavor, being the only real thing you taste.

There are spicy french fries on the burger, which is okay but you get a grand total of 4 fries.

The closeslaw is fine but reall just contributes to making a big mess with the slathered on Adobe ketchup.

The bun is completely boring.

The thing they do right is the patty.

The large beef patty is extra thick and cooked absolutely perfectly.

Overall this burger is just too busy.

It’s mix of flavors is too much, and overshadow the beef patty which could be the real star of the show.

In the future, if you find yourself here, go for something simple that can highlight the beef.
