Here just in time for football playoffs, we highlight the top 5 best wings in Connecticut.
#5 Bomb Wings & Rice Bar, Hamden
Buffalo wing 7.5/10

Huge and meaty, these run on the meat here. The sauce is thin and mild, with a strong vinegar flavor. Full review here
Address: 2373 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06518
#4 The Groggy Frog, Southington
Hot buffalo wings 7.5/10

Solid, sharp heat in a classic buffalo sauce. A subtle sweetness helps give these a nice balance. Full review here
Address: 129 Center St, Southington, CT 06489
#3 The Rabbit Hole, Old Saybrook
Buffalo XX wing: 7.5/10

Sweet and spicy. Not building off Franks, but a unique flavor like habanero. Excellent. Full review here
Address: 256 Main St, Old Saybrook, CT 06475
#2 Hidden Still, Ellington
Insane wings; Smoked Garlic Sriracha 8/10

Torn between Smoked Garlic Sriracha and Insane, as both are wonderful. Both are smoky with a nice chile pepper bite. Full review here
Address: 87 West Rd, Ellington, CT 06029
#1 J. Timothy’s Taverne; Plainville
Dirty Wings (buffalo) 8/10

You hope the champs won’t win again, but they should. The wings are simply the best in the state. Dirt style buffalo is the only way to go. But reader be aware, while these are the best, they aren’t phenomenal. Meaning, some place may unseat them in the future. Full review here
