On the search for the best pizza in Connecticut brings us to Little City Pizza in Avon.

New Haven is (rightfully) dominating the CT pizza scene. There is a burning need for excellent pizza places north of the shore.
We first tried a garlic bread-substitute before digging into the main pizza.
Asiago bread
Not garlic bread in the traditional way you think about it.
This is Asiago bread rubbed with inane amounts of roasted garlic and a crispy cheese applied.
There is also a sweet balsamic glaze dripped over everything.
It’s served with a side of ‘spicy marinara’.
The marinara is just okay but there is a nice kick.
Overall, this is an excellent little starter, with a nice blend of sweet, spicy, and savory,

Pizza
There are certain flavors that will stay with you forever.
It doesn’t matter how long into the future you age, once the flavor hits you, you will be transported back to childhood.

That’s what is happening here.
The pizza is very very good, but for an odd reason.
The crust is ultra thin, crunchy without being crispy.
The cheese is gooey.
The pepperoni is straightforward with just a little char.
But when you bite into it, all together, you realize that this is the best frozen-boxed-pizza taste you will ever have.
That is not a dig at Little City.
Imagine being 11 years old, biting into an Ellios at home.
You love it!
And this pizza will bring you back to that.
