Good Hope Wontons in Spicy Broth
The wontons are extremely delicate.

The insides are pretty much entirely meat. While that’s normally good, here it’s almost a little boring.

The broth is thin with a heavy dose of Szechuan peppercorn.

This makes it very spicy in a burns-going-down-your-throat sort of way.

It’s good, but the broth is more spice than flavor and the wontons are a little bland otherwise.

Soup Dumplings

Wow.

These soup dumplings are amazing.
The wrappers are delicate, sometimes so delicate they sick to the basket and the soup spills out.

That’s a problem.

It’s problematic because the soup inside is rich, gelatinous, and nearly perfect.

The pork filling is full of umami flavor.

These soup dumplings are probably the best in CT.

The only shortcoming is the sauce they give, which is mostly just vinegar.

Aside from that, these are excellent.
