On the search for the best wing in Connecticut brings us to The Blind Rhino in South Norwalk.

The Blind Rhino frequently pops up on ‘best wings’ lists running through Connecticut.

So of course, we have to try them.

We got both the Spicy buffalo wings, and went for a unique sauce: Spicy Dr. Pepper.

Spicy Buffalo Wings

These wings have a good peppery heat on the tip of tongue and lips.

They are nothing great, however.

The wings are meaty enough, sure, but what of the sauce?

The sauce is mostly cayenne pepper, and it’s thin.

The Rating: Spicy Buffalo Wings

6.5/10

Spicy Dr. Pepper wings

These are slightly better than the spicy buffalo wings.

Again, meaty, but the spice is milder.

If you don’t know these are “Dr. Pepper’, that wouldn’t be what you’d guess.

It’s more of a mix of maple syrup and Chinese 5 spice.

The heat is closer to that Szechuan pepper, and the sweetness in maple syrup make for a nice combination.

The Rating: Spicy Dr. Pepper Wings

7/10

Overall, the chicken part of the wings here are good, but the sauces could use some improvements.
